David pondered who could go into the presence of such a sovereign Lord (Tabernacle). The answer, perhaps given by the priests at the sanctuary, is that one whose conduct is pure and whose worship is faithful may do so.
Then he goes ahead to open his heart to God, asking for teaching, leading and forgiveness from God.
David then gives a testimony of integrity.
