“Peter, do you love me?” “Peter, am I your friend?” “I am your friend?” “You know all things.” “Feed My Lambs, Tend My sheep, Feed My Sheep. Follow Me.”
Those questions must’ve made Peter very uncomfortable knowing his failures; trying to kill Malcus, denying Jesus three times, futile fishing and many others.
Peter’s love for God meant he MUST give himself to the serve and follow God. Each time we fail Jesus restores us and challenges us to set our eyes on the work ahead. Jesus informs Peter that his life was no longer his own (as was when he was younger), but was going to end on the Cross, upside down.
