Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile his body, he didn’t allow circumstances and his situation to delay his faith.
One could say Daniel staked on God, and he won; he gained favor with God and people. However through this, Daniel’s character was tested and in this we see him portray the true characters of a prophet of God; holiness, courage and gentleness.
