The fascinating thing here is not the way Jesus grounded, blinded and converted Paul, but that Christ hurts when we are persecuted, a declaration of His love and concern for them/us. When Christians were going through persecution from both the Jews and Roman government, it was Christ feeling the pain. The Roman Empire would ultimately disintegrate because of their cruelty to Christians.
