ACTS 20:20 VISION
Consider with me a life-defining question: What is my personal life vision? Am I fulfilling the vision God has for all followers of Christ, and seeing that vision personalized in a manner specific to my gifts, abilities, and station in life? Jesus Christ has given us a clear vision statement for our lives: Go into the world and make disciples of all nations, teaching them everything He has taught us through His Word (Matthew 28:18-20). Ask: How is my life contributing to the fulfillment of the vision statement Christ gave His church? The only way the corporate Body of Christ
“HUMAN KIND CANNOT BEAR VERY MUCH REALITY”
Reality, though difficult, is dependable. It always keeps its word, though its word may be hard to bear. I would much prefer to live my life on the sharp, cutting edge of reality than dreaming on the soft, phony mattress of fantasy. Reality is the tempered poker that keeps the fires alive…it’s the spark that prompts the engine to keep running…the hard set of facts that refuses to let feeling overrule logic. It’s reality that forces every Alice out of her Wonderland and into God’s wonderful plan. It’s undaunted determination has pulled many a wanderer, lost in the maze of
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted?
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savor, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify
Just how big is this world to which we are to take the good news of the Gospel?
Two centuries ago, it took many months to circumnavigate the globe in sailing ships. Today one can almost circle the earth in 2 days. Did the size of the world change? Not physically – but in every other way, our world is rapidly shrinking. At one time, many people in the world lived and died without seeing a human face different from their own or hearing a different language. Today, travel, television, the Internet, publications, and immigration have brought the world to every nation’s door. This “shrinking world” phenomenon has enormous implications for every follower of Jesus Christ because we
Missions at CCK -> July – October 2011
BUREMBA [NEAR KAZO, KIRUHURA] (JULY 21 – 28, 2011) Juliet Kasanyu, who attends Church of Uganda, Bugolobi requested us to come and reach out to her birth place with gospel of Jesus Christ. We were able to cover a lot of primary & secondary schools and minister to the students, though the latter were having mock / trial exams. Mr. Christopher (Juliet’s Dad) & family as well as Mr. Paul Tandeka (Headmaster, Buremba SS) coordinated the outreach in a well mannered way. A simple ‘born again’ message was shared from John 3:1-21 in the church Mr. Christopher (83 years old)
Mission @ CCK -> April – June 2011
Since GERALD AKIZIWERA and his wife SOPHIE were blessed with a second child, JONAN, on April 5, 2011, as well as for other reasons, April & May 2011 was time for a break. In the photo given below, they are with their first daughter JOY. Gerald heads the Jesus film team and has to show a minimum of 8 films in a month and report to Christians Sharing Christ Film Ministry (CSCFM) who has given the whole equipment. It has made our job easier in mass evangelism instead of doing crusades that are expensive to conduct. With the help of
Missions @ CCK -> January – March 2011
Our maiden outreach for 2011 was to Mubende hosted by Kamya James who studied in Calvary Chapel Bible College Uganda (CCBCU). We sensed a lot of spiritual opposition as a team, but as usual God always prevails. Suleiman (69 years old) was baptized with eight others around 7 pm in a small pond along with 8 others on January 9, 2011. We also sensed that the Lord wanted us to travel to different villages / districts and equip churches and believers against false teachers & teaching in the coming months / years. Between Feburary 23 – March 9, 2011, we
MARK 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”
Our vision for missions at Calvary Chapel Kampala is trying to reach out to one new district within Uganda every month with the good news of Jesus Christ. Since June 2008, on our first trip to LUWERO ISLAND (Mukono District) till October 2011 to RWIMI (Kabarole District), by His grace, strength and favor, we have been able to cover about 30 different districts. But we still have a long way to go, as there are at present 112 districts, and with bifurcation still going on by the government, the number is bound to increase. May the write-up given below encourage
